OCTOBER NEWS :
🪖 Cloth-covered Hawley liners are here !
🇺🇸 Current US customs regulations do not allow us to send all types of products to the USA. Hawleys are however eligible for shipment to the US. We sent several liners this month, and they were all delivered without any issues 🥳
British WWII No.82 grenade reproduction.
HISTORY :
The British WW2 No 82 grenade (nicknamed “Gammon bomb” of the name of its inventor) was delivered from May 1943 to the English armed forces for use against tanks and for light demolitions. It was used by regular forces as well as British and US Airborne Forces, especially during the Battle of Normandy.
The grenade consists of a black stocking bag that was attached to the grenade and open at one end. The soldier would fill the stocking with the predetermined amount of TNT and pull the elastic tight. It featured the standard Number 247 all ways acting fuze with a screw cap and cloth tape fuze.
TOP PART :
The top cap and brown fuze system of our reproduction are 3D printed in solid pastic.
On this version, the black cap is painted red to indicate this is a fast arming model. Top cap can not be unscrewed.
Markings on the brown part tindicate the type of grenade, and is aged a little bit for more visual realism.
BOTTOM PART :
The bottom part is composed of a black canvas bagged, rivetted to the top part, and sewn at the bottom with white thread.
Some other reproductions available on the market are sold "empty" with an open bottom.
We decided to fill our repro with padding foam, and to close the bottom of the canvas bag (you therefore can't open the bag, unless you unpick it completely - which we do not recommend).
WEIGHT :
Overall weight is around 100g, depending on padding foam filling.
ATTENTION :
⚠️ Please be aware that this product do not meet any real weapon safety criteria. This is a dummy prop.

ww2gear founder
I am François, founder and manager of ww2gear.
As far as I can remember, I have always been a WW2 history buff.
The ww2gear adventure started back in 2017 with the creation of the @ww2gear Instagram page. Since then, I have developed increasing interest for WW2 reenactment.
One thing led to another, and I quickly joined a U.S. Army reenactment group in Belgium.
Simultaneously, I started creating repro gear for myself and a few friends, in line with the concrete needs of WW2 collectors and reenactors. It quickly became a serious business, which led to a full time job in 2020.
Since then, I have managed and shipped hundreds of orders all around the world, and collaborated with numerous reenactment groups and other militaria professionals.
Most products available on this webshop are handcrafted by myself or individual makers, which explains the limited assortment strategy.
I am a passionate person, working to enhance your passion.
