M9A1 anti-tank rifle grenade reproduction, OD green.
HISTORY :
Grenade, Rifle, Antitank, M9A1 : improved type of Rifle Grenade introduced in 1942, this model became the std. Antitank Rifle Grenade throughout WWII . It was lighter, had a better aerodynamic shape, its fuze and detonator were relocated, while armor penetration was increased to 4 inches . The fuze is more sensitive and will function upon impact with soft earth ! Range was now 250 yards . At first, color was yellow with black markings, later replaced by olive drab yellow markings . Used with M1 (Rifle M1903A1-M1903A3) M7 (Rifle M1) and M8 Launchers (Carbine M1) . Although primarily intended for use against armored vehicles, also most effective against enemy personnel and pillboxes.
BODY :
The body of our M9A1 is composed of 2 parts (head & tail) made of solide PETG.
These two parts can be disassembled like originals. that can be unscrewed like originals.
Dimensions are 1:1 compared to an original M9A1 grenade, and will fit original grenade launchers (see photos).
BODY COLOR :
The body is made with dark grey PETG, then painted OD green.
A light coat of patina is then applied for better visual realism.
When using your grenade, the paint will slowly wear off and scratch over time, revealing the grey/steel aspect underneath (just like the real deal, which is a plus regarding authenticity).
MARKINGS :
Yellow markings indicate the grenade type, lot number, and manufacturing dates.
They are roll stamped using a rubber stamp (the same way they were during WWII), which sometimes causes some numbers and letters to be missed or smudged. This is an acceptable "error", because original manufactures had the exact same problem.
PIN :
Pin is made of metal, and can be removed (even though we advise you not to do so in order to ensure better durability of the product).
OVERALL WEIGHT :
100g.
ATTENTION :
⚠️ Price is indicated for 1 grenade.
⚠️ The M17 grenade launcher visible on photos is not for sale. You only buy the M9A1 grenade.
⚠️ To ensure durability of the product, do not pull the pin and remove the spoon hundred of times. This reproduction is made to be used as a simple display element on your gear or in your collection, not as a functional or training device that you can "arm" and/or throw.
⚠️ Please be aware that the safety pin is not made to be used on real grenades, and do not meet any real weapon safety criteria. This is a reproduction for dummy props.

As far as I can remember, I have always been a WW2 history buff.
The ww2gear adventure started back in 2017 with the creation of the @ww2gear Instagram page. Since then, I have developed increasing interest for WW2 reenactment.
One thing led to another, and I quickly joined a U.S. Army reenactment group in Belgium : The BRO.
Simultaneously, I started creating repro gear for myself and a few friends, in line with the concrete needs of WW2 collectors and reenactors. It quickly became a serious business, which led to a full time job in 2020.
Since then, I have managed and shipped hundreds of orders all around the world, and collaborated with numerous reenactment groups and other militaria professionals.
Most products available on this webshop are handcrafted by myself or individual makers, which explains the limited assortment strategy.
