US WW2 MKII body, made of solid PETG plastic (metal grey color).
The perfect product if you want to paint the grenade yourself, and add your own spoon/ring.
Body and fuze are 1:1 compared to an original MKII, therefore original spoons will fit perfectly.
HISTORY :
The MKII is arguably the most recognized hand grenade design used by the U.S. Army from 1918 up through the 1960's.
Early WW2 MKII were painted yellow. It was the color code for high explosive ordnance at this time, and HE grenades were painted accordingly. Understandably, this was found to be an impractical color due to its high visibility to the enemy.
In 1942 the the color was changed to "olive drab" (OD) with a small yellow band. With many thousands of yellow grenade bodies in inventory they were repainted, green over the yellow.
BODY & FUZE SHAPE :
The body and fuze of our MKII repros are 3D printed with solid PETG plastic.
To create our own 3D file, we scanned a real WW2 MKII grenade. Therefore all the dimensions and details are faithfully reproduced. Even the original markings on the body are visible !
On original MKII grenades, body and fuze are 2 separate parts screwed together. On our repros, body + fuze are printed in 1 solid piece for durability and production convenience. Also, we consider it is not necessary to unscrew fuze from body for reenactment purposes. Solidity first!
The body is hollow, and can be filled with sand or small metal pieces through a hole located on top of the fuze head (see photos).
BODY & FUSE COLOR :
This product is made with a metal grey color material. You can paint it the color you want.
When using your grenade, the paint will slowly wear off and scratch over time, revealing the grey/steel/metal aspect underneath (just like the real deal, which is a plus regarding authenticity).
WEIGHT :
Our repro MKII body weights around 50g (empty).
We filled one with sand, and easily rached 220g. You can also fill it with heavier elements to reach 400g or more (small metal parts for instance).

ww2gear founder
I am François, founder and manager of ww2gear.
As far as I can remember, I have always been a WW2 history buff.
The ww2gear adventure started back in 2017 with the creation of the @ww2gear Instagram page. Since then, I have developed increasing interest for WW2 reenactment.
One thing led to another, and I quickly joined a U.S. Army reenactment group in Belgium.
Simultaneously, I started creating repro gear for myself and a few friends, in line with the concrete needs of WW2 collectors and reenactors. It quickly became a serious business, which led to a full time job in 2020.
Since then, I have managed and shipped hundreds of orders all around the world, and collaborated with numerous reenactment groups and other militaria professionals.
Most products available on this webshop are handcrafted by myself or individual makers, which explains the limited assortment strategy.
I am a passionate person, working to enhance your passion.
